Literary agent Alice Williams has left David Higham Associates (DHA) after 10 years to launch her own agency.
Alice Williams Literary is based in Hammersmith, London, and Williams has taken 16 clients with her from DHA, including Lara Hawthorne, Pete Williamson and Fabi Santiago, Rachel Delahaye and Paul Whitfield.
“I've been keen to set up on my own for some time, to have the time and creative freedom to work with clients in a very pro-active way, and to bring the broad industry experience I have more clearly into focus,” she told The Bookseller.
“It's an exciting time to work in children's publishing and I'm already seeing submissions that reflect the diversity of backgrounds that we all want more of, for readers and the industry as a whole.”
Her clients work across illustration, picture books, fiction and non-fiction and these are all areas she is actively looking at in terms of submissions.
