Parker joins WH Smith Travel

Alison Parker, former deputy m.d. at Michael O’Mara, is joining WH Smith Travel as concessions event manager for the company’s Harrods and Selfridges books departments.

In the newly created role Parker will create a programme of book signings and events in branches of Harrods and Selfridges in London and Manchester, working closely with Stephanie Bastin, WH Smith Travel book buyer for Harrods and Selfridges. She joins the company after a period of retirement.

Mike Roberts, trading controller for books at WH Smith Travel, said: "We are keen to enhance the experience and enjoyment of our book departments in both Harrods and Selfridges and by creating this new position we are confident we will secure a variety of exclusive events across these prestigious stores.  We are delighted to welcome Alison to the team.
