The winners of the 100th BBC Audio Drama Awards have been revealed, featuring adaptations of The Making of a Monster (Aurora Metro Books) by Children’s Laureate for Wales, Connor Allen, and Monica Ali’s Brick Lane (Doubleday).
An autobiographical drama, The Making of a Monster was produced by Emma Harding, BBC Cymru Wales, for BBC Radio and won the Imison Award. Meanwhile Brick Lane was adapted by Tanika Gupta and produced by Anne Isger for BBC Audio Drama London, winning in the Best Adaptation category.
Also among the winners was "End of Transmission" by Anita Sullivan, which took the Tinniswood Award and the Best Original Single Drama Award. It was produced by Karen Rose at Sweet Talk Productions for BBC Radio 4, and centres on a woman called Jude who has been living with HIV for over two decades.
The winners were announced during a ceremony on Sunday, 19th March. Other categories included Best European Drama, Best Use of Sound and Best Podcast Audio Drama. The full list of winners can be found here.
