David Walliams hasn't broken a sweat in topping the Amazon Charts, with The Beast of Buckingham Palace (HarperCollins), illustrated by Tony Ross, ascending to the top of the Most-Sold: Fiction charts a week ahead of its release. The title climbed seven places to displace Lee Child's Blue Moon (Transworld) from the top spot and earned the "most anticipated" tag, racking up more pre-orders than any other book in the chart.
Robert Galbraith's Lethal White (Sphere), released originally in autumn 2018 and in paperback earlier this year, made its debut in the Most-Sold: Fiction top 20, claiming third place.
Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials (RHCP), featuring all three books of the series that has now been adapted by the BBC, also charted for the first time in sixth place. Northern Lights also rose two places to 11th place in the Most-Read: Fiction chart, though Blue Moon held the top spot.
Adam Kay's Twas the Nightshift Before Christmas (Picador) held the Most-Sold: Non-Fiction number one, despite a challenge from Tyson Fury's Behind the Mask (Cornerstone), which debuted in second place. Comedian David Mitchell charted twice, with Dishonesty is the Second-Best Policy and Thinking About it Only Makes it Worse (both Guardian/Faber) hitting 11th and 13th place respectively.
Bill Bryson's The Body (Transworld) once again secured the Most-Read: Non-Fiction number one for a fifth week running. Dishonesty is the Second-Best Policy and Anne Glenconner's Lady in Waiting (Hodder & Stoughton), boosted by the 89-year-old author's appearance on Graham Norton's BBC show, appeared for the first time in the Most-Read chart.
