David Walliams' The Beast of Buckingham Palace (HarperCollins) and Adam Kay's Twas the Nightshift Before Christmas (Picador) have held the Amazon Charts Most-Sold number ones in their respective categories.
Despite Kay Featherstone and Kate Allinson's Pinch of Nom: Everyday Light (Bluebird) leapfrogging The Beast of Buckingham Palace in Nielsen BookScan's TCM charts, with 129,985 copies sold last week, it claimed only second place in Amazon's Most-Sold: Non-Fiction ranking. It was, however, the more pre-ordered book in the chart, and spent 14 weeks in the top 20 ahead of its publication.
In Most-Sold: Fiction, The Beast... and Charlie Mackesy's The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse (Ebury) remained steady in the top two, though L J Ross' self-published Ryan's Christmas rose nine places into third. The Beatrix Potter Collection audiobook, narrated by "Fleabag" Hot Priest Andrew Scott, made its debut in 19th place—perhaps parents are already thinking ahead to car-journey distractions over the Christmas holidays.
In Most-Read: Fiction, the Harry Potter books (Pottermore/Bloomsbury) claimed six of the top seven places, with only Trisha Ashley's The Christmas Invitation (Transworld) breaking up the Potter party, in sixth place.
While Bill Bryson's The Body (Transworld) once again claimed the Most-Read: Non-Fiction top spot, Adam Kay's two titles swapped places, with Twas the Nightshift Before Christmas rising into second.
