Months ahead of release, Kay Featherstone and Kate Allinson's Pinch of Nom: Everyday Light (Bluebird), the follow-up to record-breaking blockbuster Pinch of Nom, has vaulted straight into the Amazon Charts Most-Sold: Non-Fiction number one. On pre-orders alone, it managed to leapfrog the previous week's number one (and the current number one bestseller through Nielsen BookScan's Total Consumer Market), Jamie Oliver's Veg (Penguin). The original Pinch of Nom, which has sold 932,214 copies through the TCM since its release in late March, got a boost up the Most-Sold chart, leaping into fourth.
Though Veg slipped to third place in Most-Sold, it may have whetted the average Amazon browser's appetite for veggie cookbooks—Joe Wicks' Veggie Lean in 15 (Bluebird) made its debut in the top 20, in 12th place.
Aside from Everyday Light, the highest new entry in Most-Sold: Non-Fiction was Lemn Sissay's My Name is Why (Canongate), which hit sixth place. It made its debut in the Hardback Non-Fiction chart through BookScan last week in fourth place.
Over in Most-Read: Non-Fiction, Michelle Obama's Becoming (Penguin) reigned for a seventh week. The chart saw no new entries this week, and only two titles in the top 20 have racked up fewer than seven weeks—Lisa Taddeo's Three Women (Bloomsbury) and Yuval Noah Harari's Homo Deus (Vintage), both on six.
Susan Lewis' One Minute Later (HarperCollins) once again held the Most-Read: Fiction number one. However, Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale (Vintage) re-entered the chart in third place, no doubt benefitting from both the television adaptation's third series coming to a close a week ago and the heightened anticipation for the release of the Booker-shortlisted sequel The Testaments next week.
The Most-Read: Fiction number one was held by Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Pottermore/Bloomsbury), but Rosie Walsh's The Man Who Didn't Call (Mantle) soared up five places in the chart, after riding high in the Most-Sold chart for weeks.
