Beth O'Leary's The Flatshare (Quercus) has risen a level to top the Amazon Charts' Most-Sold: Fiction chart, gazumping David Walliams' Slime (HarperCollins Children's) for the number one. Although there may be obvious reasons a romance about sharing a small space with another person has piqued the bookbuying public's interest, the e-book edition is also currently 99p.
Claire McGowan's The Other Wife (Thomas & Mercer) also rose seven places to third, after her previous title, What You Did, racked up multiple weeks in the top 20. It also hit seventh place in the Most-Read: Fiction chart, making two non-Harry Potter titles in the top seven—a rare occurence.
Mrs Hinch's The Little Book of Lists (Michael Joseph) maintained its rubber-gloved grip on the Most-Sold: Non-Fiction number one, with Adam Kay's This is Going to Hurt (Picador) rising to second place, the same week it once again charted top of Nielsen BookScan's Paperback Non-Fiction chart.
Self-help books Vex King's Good Vibes, Good Life (Hay House) and Fearne Cotton's Happy (Orion Spring) also performed strongly in Most-Sold: Non-Fiction.
In its 39th week in the list, Michelle Obama's Becoming (Penguin) once again topped the Most-Read: Non-Fiction chart.
