Matt Haig's The Midnight Library (Canongate) has clocked in at the top of the Amazon Charts' Most-Sold: Fiction top 20, unseating Richard Osman's The Thursday Murder Club (Penguin). Jojo Moyes' Night Music (Hodder & Stoughton) also leapfrogged the cosy crime debut to claim the runner-up spot.
Haig's title also climbed to ninth place in Most-Read: Fiction, as Night Music entered the chart in 17th place.
Jonny Duddle's World Book Day title Gigantosaurus: Dino Spot (Templar), the current number one through Nielsen BookScan's Total Consumer Market, made its debut in the Most-Sold: Fiction chart in seventh place.
Kay Featherstone and Kate Allinson's Pinch of Nom Quick & Easy (Bluebird) re-claimed the Most-Sold: Non-Fiction number one from Stacey Solomon's Tap to Tidy (Ebury), with Dr Claire Bailey and Justine Pattison's The Fast 800 Easy Recipe Book (Short) bouncing back up to second. Perhaps the announcement of the timeline for easing Covid restrictions persuaded the book-buying public into a mini-New Year, New You revival.
