Damon Galgut's The Promise (Chatto & Windus) has thundered to the top of the Amazon Charts' Most-Sold: Fiction top 20, the week of its Booker Prize win. Through Nielsen BookScan, the hardback title increased 1,550% in volume week on week.
Frank Herbert's 1965-published sci-fi Dune (Gateway) held second, as its film adaptation hit UK cinemas. Christmas fiction for adults and children jingled into the Most-Sold: Fiction chart, with Sarah Morgan's The Christmas Escape (HQ) and Trisha Ashley's One More Christmas at the Castle (Bantam) rubbing shoulders with Tom Fletcher and Shane Devries' The Christmasaurus (Puffin) and The Christmasaurus and the Naughty List (Puffin).
Billy Connolly's Windswept & Interesting (Two Roads) held the Most-Sold: Non-Fiction top spot and it also reigned in Most-Read: Non-Fiction. Stephanie Land's Maid (Legacy) and Dan Jones' The Plantagenets (HarperCollins) made their debuts.
