Amazon Publishing has joined forces with Capital Crime to sponsor the festival's inaugural awards.
The London-based crime and thriller festival, which will take place for the first time later this year, will partner with Amazon Publishing for the Readers Awards.
The Amazon Publishing Readers Awards will acknowledge achievements of authors, TV and filmmakers within the crime and thriller community. The awards will be voted on by Capital Crime weekend and day pass-holders from a shortlist curated by the festival’s advisory board.
Capital Crime co-founder David Headley said: "It’s thrilling that Amazon will sponsor the Capital Crime Readers Awards this year. We’re looking forward to working with Amazon as we build towards the launch of our exciting crime and thriller festival and highlighting the very best creatives in the book and film industries."
Dominic Myers, director, Amazon Publishing EU said: "Amazon Publishing has millions of Crime Mystery and Thriller readers via its Thomas & Mercer imprint, so we’re thrilled to take part in this exciting new festival."
Awards for debut, crime thriller, mystery, e-book, audio book, independent voice, book, movie and television series of the year will be present at a drinks party on Saturday 28th September 2019 at the Capital Crime festival.
Capital Crime co-founder Adam Hamdy added: "The innovative voting technology we’re using to decide the awards means our pass-holders have a real chance to honour the works they most admire."
The awards are open to any works published, broadcast or released between 1st July 2018 and 30th June 2019. The shortlists will be announced and voting will open on 1st July. The awards will be presented at a drinks party on Saturday 28th September at the Capital Crime festival.
Last month the festival unveiled its line-up with Martina Cole, Ann Cleeves, Ian Rankin, Abir Mukherjee and Leye Adenle all set to attend. Tickets for the festival, which will take place at the Grand Connaught Rooms from the 26th to 28th September 2019, are now on sale.
