Amazon is to bring back its Prime Day of discounting next week on 12th July.
The e-commerce giant launched its first Prime Day in July last year, offering deep discounts on goods on its website every five minutes.
The promotional period is similar to Black Friday, but only open to £79-a-year subscription paying Amazon Prime members.
The company said Prime Day 2016 would be “the biggest Amazon event ever” with more than 100,000 deals worldwide, including thousands in the UK.
At the same time, the company is reportedly opening another physical bookshop in the US, this time in Manhattan.
The New York Post has reported that Amazon Books will open in Hudson Yards in Manhattan, a retail development by Related Cos and Oxford Properties Group, slated to open in 2018 or 2019.
It would be the first East Coast store planned by Amazon, which opened its first physical bookshop in Seattle in November last year. It will also open a second bookshop in San Diego and has previously been rumoured to be opening up to 400 physical bookshops in the US.
