Anna Boatman, formerly fiction publisher at Little, Brown’s Piatkus and Constable imprints, has been appointed executive editor at Kevin Anderson & Associates (KAA).
KAA launched its UK division in 2023 and works with publishers, agents and authors in roles ranging from ghostwriting and editing manuscripts to publishing strategy and coaching. Boatman is KAA UK’s first fiction hire, following the appointment of Adam Strange as executive editor for non-fiction.
"I’ve been delighted with the performance of the business in the UK in its first year," said Kevin Anderson, KAA CEO and editor-in-chief. "We’ve seen demand for our services grow exponentially, with fiction moving particularly fast, so this further expansion is a natural next step. I was so pleased to bring Anna on board at such an exciting time; she is a brilliant editor and publisher who not only has an incredible bestselling track record but is also practiced at working with authors of all levels of experience."
Boatman commented: "I have so enjoyed my work at Little, Brown over the years; I feel very lucky to have had the chance to nurture and grow such an exceptional list of authors and I will miss my fantastic team, however, the opportunity to contribute to an independent company that’s growing in such an exhilarating way, as well as to work in-depth on such a varied list of individual projects was simply irresistible. I’m proud to be a part of offering such an important and high-quality service to our authors, and in my meetings with Kevin and the team I have been so impressed by their talent, experience and ambitions for the future."
Boatman took up her new post on 16th December 2024, and can be reached at anna@kawriting.com.
