Anna Steadman, a commissioning editor of non-fiction at Little, Brown imprint Piatkus, is joining Headline Home as senior commissioning editor.
Reporting to publishing director Lindsey Evans, Steadman will acquire a wide range of lifestyle non-fiction titles, from self-help, personal development and popular psychology to health and wellbeing, cookery, relationships and parenting. She takes up her position on Monday 3rd December.
Steadman has been a commissioning editor on the Piatkus non-fiction list since September 2017. Recent titles that she published at Piatkus include Wabi Sabi: Japanese Wisdom for a Perfectly Imperfect Life by Beth Kempton, which has now been translated into 19 languages, and The Discomfort Zone: How to Get What You Want by Living Fearlessly by Cosmopolitan magazine editor-in-chief Farrah Storr.
Before Little, Brown, Steadman worked at Penguin Random House on its Fig Tree list, where she jointly acquired Everything I Know About Love by Dolly Alderton. She began her career at literary agency Lutyens & Rubinstein.
Steadman commented: "I’ve so enjoyed my time at Little, Brown and will be sorry to leave behind so many brilliant authors and colleagues, but this was an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up. I’ve long been an admirer of Headline, and what Lindsey Evans is doing with the Headline Home list in particular, and I can’t wait to start commissioning on to it."
Evans said: "Anna is an incredibly well-respected editor who has built up a wealth of experience from across the industry. I have enormous admiration for her and have been incredibly impressed by the array of titles she has acquired during her time at Piatkus. I am delighted that she is joining the team at Headline Home and can’t wait to see her put her instinctive flair for finding quality, commercial lifestyle titles into practice for us."
