Atlantic pre-empts Bentley’s Autopia

Atlantic has acquired the UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, to Autopia: A Tour of the Future of Cars by "The Gadget Show" presenter Jon Bentley, in a pre-empt deal.

In the book Bentley, who also helped create "Top Gear", will explore how cars have developed through the ages and talk to the engineers and coders at the forefront of new technology, from hydrogen-powered cars to jetpacks.

Editorial director Mike Harpley, who struck the deal with Andrew Gordon at David Higham Associates, said: “Jon is now best-known as the loveable reviewer on 'The Gadget Show', but he also helped shape the most successful motoring programme in history. This book will provide a thought-provoking look at some very cool cutting-edge technology. But it will also be a lot of fun.”

Autopia: A Tour of the Future of Cars will be published with illustrations and photographs in hardback and e-book in October 2019.
