Three books published by Atlantic – The Looking Glass House by Vanessa Tait, Rembrandt's Mirror by Kit Devereux and A Want of Kindness by Joanne Limburg – are on the longlist for the Historical Writers Association (HWA) Goldsboro Debut Crown award.
Twelve books altogether are on the longlist for the award, which is for debut historical fiction, including titles such as The Hourglass Factory by Lucy Ribchester (Simon & Schuster) and Belonging by Umi Sinha (Myriad).
"This year's HWA Goldsboro Debut Crown longlist reflects the strength and variety of the entries we received," said chair of the judges Andrew Taylor. "It also demonstrates that historical fiction in the UK is flourishing as never before."
The shortlist will be announced at the association’s History in the Court event on 30th June and the winner will be presented with a £1,000 prize at the Harrogate History Festival on 21st October.
