Joe Wicks, Bill Bryson and Naomi Alderman are among the writers featuring in Audible's new offering, Audio Shows, which launches today (8th February) with short audio programmes, original series and exclusive podcasts.
Audible members will have unlimited access to the Audio Shows, which kick off with a series of 14 Audible Originals, commissioned by Audible’s producers without publisher involvement, and available to stream and download from its website.
One of the highlights from the new offering is "Mo-Joe", which sees Sports Personality Of The Year 2017 and four-time Olympic champion Sir Mo Farah pair up with The Body Coach Joe Wicks to lend advice, expertise and moral support to presenter and comedian George Lamb as he trains for the 2018 London Marathon.
Additional Audible Original productions coming soon to Audio Shows include "Bill Bryson’s Appliance Of Science", which will see author Bill Bryson team up with the Science Museum to celebrate the ideas and inventions of the incurably curious, and "The Way Of All Flesh", written by Naomi Alderman, author of The Power (Viking); the series will delve deeper into her bestselling storytelling game, "Zombies, Run!".
Audible members are granted unrestricted access to Audio Shows as part of their regular monthly subscription, while non-Audible members can listen with Audible’s 30-day trial, or can purchase entire series or individual episodes for a one off payment.
Tracey Markham, UK Country Manager at Audible, said: “Audio is booming and we couldn’t be more thrilled to bring such an array of gripping, funny and insightful shorter listens to audio lovers across the country. Working with some of the world’s best writers, producers, commentators and comics, Audio Shows gives Audible members access to a wealth of great audio programmes, original series and exclusive podcasts, ad-free, at no extra cost.”
