Spiracle Audiobooks has launched an app to enable customers to listen on mobile, iPad and tablet.
The audiobook and e-book platform champions the UK’s small and independent presses, and was founded by radio producer Kate Bland and Leigh Wilson, professor of modern literature at the University of Westminster, in May 2022.
The Spiracle Player app is described as “a natural extension of the customer’s online library,” as all Spiracle audiobooks that are stored in a customer’s Spiracle library will synchronise with the Spiracle Player app.
Jon Wilkinson, digital director, said: “Since we went live with the platform last year, we have developed the technology to deliver a user experience that is ever more intuitive and enjoyable. Our undertaking with the Spiracle Player app is in line with these developments and means customers can move seamlessly between choosing audiobooks from the Spiracle collection and listening to them.
“The Spiracle Player enables customers to listen to audiobooks in remote places, uninterrupted when travelling fast or on the Underground. We have brought all the care in visual and user experience design to open out the world of Spiracle in this way.” More information can be found here.
