Audio will be "centre stage" at the Quantum data conference at London Book Fair this year, organisers have said.
Faber’s former marketing director, Matt Haslum, will chair the 'Quantum: Inspiration, Informed by Data' event on 9th April, which is run with Nielsen Book and offers “an insight into the current state of the international publishing market”.
The second half of the day at Quantum 2018 will be "solely focused on audiobooks", organisers said, spanning audio rights, evolving business models, and marketing.
The conference will cover a range of themes including: consumer dynamics, influencer marketing, new creative talent and competition from the wider creative industries, channels for increased sales, audio publishing, and key industry trends.
Orna O’Brien, conference manager at LBF said: “With the invaluable insight of our expert steering committee, and powerful audience research carried out by our partners Nielsen Book, we are creating a compelling Quantum programme for 2018.”
She added that “the majority will be voices as yet unheard in publishing circles”.
Andre Breedt, m.d of Nielsen Book Research, said the day allows the “implications of our market insight can be explored and big ideas of the day debated”.
