Authors including Chris Smith, Cressida Cowell and Liz Pichon joined partners, publishers and ambassadors at the National Literacy Trust’s summer party, hosted by Hachette on the 27th June.
National Literacy Trust c.e.o Jonathan Douglas CBE introduced guests to the Trust’s campaign for early years, Early Words Matter. Launching in the autumn, it is the biggest national campaign aimed at improving early language and communication development.
Douglas was joined by a panel of four who discussed the impact of some of the National Literacy Trust’s early years work.
Jo Knuckey, Cornwall hub manager at the National Literacy Trust, was among the panelists, speaking alongside Beverley Perdomo and Phyllis Hayden, a parent and manager at Better Start, Streatham & Norwood, as well as speech and language therapist Liz Royall.
