Avon has bought three more books from crime author Jacqui Rose, following her brief stint with fellow HarperCollins imprint HQ.
Avon is “thrilled to have re-signed” the author, whom it originally published from 2012 to 2015 before she went to HQ as ‘Jack Ford’ for spy thriller The Killing Grounds, published in July this year.
Publishing director Helen Huthwaite acquired UK and Commonwealth rights including Canada from Darley Anderson of Darley Anderson Literary Agency and the deal sees the London-based author’s publishing cycle take her to summer 2019, publishing every six months from 2018. The titles will be published in e-book, priced at £2.99, and in paperback at £7.99.
Avon also has six backlist titles which will be relaunched in line with Rose's new titles which pick up back where her last book, Disobey, left off.
Rose, originally from South Yorkshire, said she felt like the “luckiest author in the world”. She said: “I am on cloud nine to be back with Avon books with not only Helen at the helm but her fabulous team who make up an innovative and formidable crew. They have all welcomed me back with such enthusiasm, I am truly touched and delighted to have this opportunity to make Avon once more my publishing home."
Huthwaite said: “Jacqui is such a talent and it is a tremendous privilege to publish her once again. I have no doubt that her numerous fans will be as excited as I am to see her return to these much-loved characters, and we will be pulling out all the stops to ensure we get her new books into as many hands as possible.”
