Award-winning Bad Form magazine and feminist book subscription service Books That Matter have joined forces to launch a sex-positive book box that will launch next month.
The collaboration will see the magazine’s next exclusive edition, The Sex Issue, delivered to subscribers of Books That Matter, featuring writing from debut author Deesha Philyaw, Bolu Babalola, and interviews with Brontez Purnell and Irenosen Okojie, with a cover designed by Asma Istwani.
Included in the July box, titled "Girls Come First", Books That Matter is spotlighting an exclusive pre-release paperback of The Secret Lives of Church Ladies by Philyaw, a collection of short stories that was pre-empted by Pushkin Press last year.
Also included in the box will be a selection of sex-positive gifts from small businesses. Subscribers to both the book only and book subscription boxes will receive the special issue. Girls Come First is available now.
"We’re so proud and excited to be partnering with the inspiring Books That Matter on this project," Amy Baxter, editor-in-chief of Bad Form told The Bookseller. "Working with Molly and Issie has been such a brilliant experience, and we’re so excited at what great value the box will be, especially the book-only version, which is the same price we’d normally be able to offer the print issue for."
