Barnsley Libraries has announced the first-ever Barnsley Book Festival, set to take place between 2nd February and 23rd March 2024.
It is set to take place in various locations across Barnsley and will explore themes ranging from politics, gaming, local history, neurodiversity, LGBTQ+, romance, adventure and many more.
During the festival there will be many family friendly activities, as well as showcasing artists who have been commissioned to create new work.
Some highlights include a Screening of "The Shining" followed by a Q&A with Craig Oldham, a conversation with novelist Catherine Curzon on Inside the world of Bridgerton and the book launch of The Happiest Ever After (Simon & Schuster UK) by Milly Johnson.
Cabinet spokesperson for public health and communities councillor Wendy Cain said: “Next year’s Barnsley Book Festival will showcase some of the best local and national literature and art. Barnsley Libraries remain committed to transforming their offer and making art and culture more accessible to our local communities.”
