Bea Carvalho has been appointed general fiction buyer at Waterstones, replacing Chris White.
Kate Skipper, Waterstones buying director, said: “I’m delighted to confirm that with immediate effect Bea Carvalho will take on the general fiction buying role. Bea is an avid reader of fiction and I’m looking forward to seeing her applying her skills to a new genre."
She added: "Kate McHale has taken on exceptional amounts this year and has been truly brilliant. I’m thrilled that going forward Kate will be responsible for Crime, SFF and Teen as well as continuing to work on key campaigns.”
