Belinda Matthews retiring from Faber after 36 years
Belinda Matthews, editor-at-large at Faber, who has overseen the Classical Music and Dance list is retiring from the company after 36 years.
In an announcement from Faber today (6th December), Matthews was described as "a wonderful colleague and friend to Faber staff during that period".
During her 36 years at the company, Matthews has worked across many different roles, including managing the editorial team, overseeing internships, editing and successfully developing the Classical Music list. She has also been a company board member. She will continue as a Trustee for the David Tebbutt Trust.

She has created a peerless classical music list and, until her final week here, has continued to champion her authors and seek out up-and-coming talent for Faber. Faber is currently recruiting for a new editor-at-large to oversee the Classical Music list with an announcement about her replacement expected in the new year.
