Alessandra Birch has been promoted to director of global licensing and UK rights for children’s and YA at Writers House from her role as global licensing manager.
In her new role she will report to executive vice-president Cecilia de la Campa. Birch joined the literary agency in 2017 and has since sold international rights for authors such as Adam Silvera, Tahereh Mafi, Dav Pilkey and Zoulfa Katouh.
Now working permanently in the UK, she will oversee direct sales of the agency’s children’s and YA clients into the global English market outside the US, as well as continuing to handle translation rights.
She said: “I’m thrilled to step up into this new role and so proud of the incredible achievements of our children’s and YA clients over the last few years. I’m excited to grow the already extensive and varied list of Writers House authors published across the UK and Australian markets.”
