Bird promoted at Granta, Llanwarne joins

Dan Bird has been appointed assistant editor at Granta publications, as the organisation makes changes in the editorial and sales departments. Meanwhile Phoebe Llanwarne joins Granta from Murdoch Books as sales executive.

Bird, who joined Granta from Waterstones in July 2019, is moving from his role as sales and publishing executive to take up the editing position, while Llanwarne steps into the role. Both changes are effective from Monday 10th May.

Publishing director Bella Lacey said: "Dan Bird has been a highly valued member of the campaigns team, working closely with Faber and the Alliance and supporting Granta’s developing e-book and audio programme. He has been a powerful advocate for our books and is an intuitive and intelligent reader, and I’m delighted he is joining the editorial department. I’m also very pleased that we have such an organised and energetic replacement for Dan in Phoebe Llanwarne."
