Black & White buys Andrew Cotter's dog story

Black & White Publishing has acquired world rights for Scottish sports commentator Andrew Cotter's story of his adventures with his dogs Olive and Mabel, who have become lockdown hits online.

Olive, Mabel and Me: Life and Adventures with my Canine Companions was acquired directly from the author by Black & White m.d. Campbell Brown.

Cotter's funny commentaries on a series of online contests between his two labradors have been a big hit over the lockdown weeks, with "Game of Bones" viewed more than 40 million times on social media.

In the book, Cotter will tell "the heart-warming story of his life with his two famous labradors Olive and Mabel, of his bond with his dogs and their many adventures together". It will also tell "how walking and climbing in the mountains helps them all find peace, joy and happiness away from the hectic world of the media".

Black & White calls the book "beautifully written, touching and lough out loud funny".

Olive, Mabel and Me will be published in October.
