Black & White Publishing has acquired A Traitor to His Blood, the fifth instalment of M P Wright's J T Ellington series.
Campbell Brown, m.d., secured world English rights from Phillip Patterson at Marjacq. The title will be published in paperback original in summer 2021.
Set in Bristol, the series follows West Indian ex-policeman and reluctant private detective Joseph Tremaine ‘JT’ Ellington. The fifth book picks up in 1980 and J T Ellington is once again pulled away from his safe teaching job into the gritty underworld when the wife of a respected Baptist minister vanishes and loyalty to an old friend forces him back into danger.
Brown commented: "It’s fantastic news that there will be a fifth book in the J T Ellington series for all his fans and for new readers to discover. With the recent focus on the Windrush generation and Black Lives Matter, a new addition to this superb series couldn’t be more timely."
Wright commented: "I am delighted that my wonderful relationship with Black & White Publishing is to continue for a fifth J T Ellington novel. A Traitor to His Blood is a direct response to readers’ requests for more and I look forward to bringing J T’s swansong to fans of the series next summer."
Black & White published the first four books in the series; Heartman (2014), All Through The Night (2016), Restless Coffins (2018) and A Sinner's Prayer (2019).
