The festival will feature writers including Michelle Paver, James Naughtie, David Hepworth, Polly Toynbee, Hadley Freeman and Sophie Walker, who will be involved in live conversations on Twitter.
The festival will be focused on Twitter but some events will be hosted on Instagram.
Blackwell's online bookshop is open, and in a statement a spokesperson said: "We aim to keep going and maintain service to customers – we supply the MoD [Ministry of Defence] and NHS as well as individuals, and we are determined to support these customers as much as we can."
The virtual festival is now live, accessible via the publishers social media and will continue until 17th April.
