A systems outage which caused severe IT problems for Blackwell's is still affecting the bookseller's website a week after the problem first appeared, although recovery work is now underway.
The retailer's website has been inactive since the morning of 28th September and the chain has been unable to receive external emails.
Blackwell's confirmed on 5th October that recovery work is now underway and back-office systems are being gradually restored. However, by the morning of 6th October the website was still unavailable.
A spokesperson said: "We aim to have the website back and trading as soon as possible."
They added: "Shops have remained open and trading despite the outage."
