Digital publisher Bloodhound Books is launching its first publishing contract competition for both debut writers and established, under-represented authors.
It comes as the publisher seeks its next bestselling title and invites commercial fiction submissions in crime, thriller, historical and women’s fiction genres. The winner will receive the offer of a minimum one-book deal and can expect to work closely with the Bloodhound team on their marketing strategy. The winning title will be published within one year from the competition opening date, today (28th February).
Submissions close at midnight on 28th March. The winner will be announced no later than April 15th.
The publisher has a list of over 500 titles and works with more than 130 authors. “Our authors are at the centre of everything we do," said publishing director Betsy Reavley. "I know that there is a huge amount of talent out there, some of which is not given the attention it deserves.
"By launching this incentive we hope to go some way to changing that. I am very excited at the prospect of finding a new, exciting voice and catapulting the career of a talented writer, who may have been overlooked by the industry.”
The e-book specialist indie was bought by global e-book publisher network Open Road Media (OR/M) for an undisclosed sum last summer.
