Bolinda has cast actor Tom Felton to narrate the 17 stories for The Quentin Blake Collection.
Nicki Powell, Bolinda’s senior rights and content executive, acquired world English-language rights to the collection, which includes stories such as Angelica Sprocket’s Pockets, Fantastic Daisy Artichoke, The Five of Us and The Weed, from United Agents.
Having collaborated as an illustrator with Michael Rosen, Joan Aiken and, most famously, Roald Dahl, Blake’s own writing for children has earned accolades including the Whitbread Award, the Kate Greenaway Medal, the Kurt Maschler Award and the international Bologna Ragazzi Prize.
Rising to fame in his role as Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter film series, Felton has since appeared in the 2018 sci-fi series “Origin” and Claire McCarthy's “Ophelia”.
He said: “I’ve grown up with the iconic work of Quentin Blake inspiring and encouraging my childhood imagination for as long as I can remember. Having the chance to read his brilliant short stories aloud through Bolinda was nothing but an absolute joy and privilege.”
Powell added: “Blake’s enchanting stories are truly timeless classics, and Tom was the perfect person to bring them to life. His voice is both brilliantly engaging for children and instantly recognisable to adults, who will no doubt be listening along (and loving it too). This is an audiobook that families will reach for time and time again.”
The Quentin Blake Collection audiobook is published on 28th September 2021.
