Bolinda Audio has secured audio rights for five of Fay Weldon's backlist books as well as for her next title.
Bolinda’s UK rights manager Ellis Moore bought English language audio rights to Weldon's backlist from Irene Baldoni of Georgina Capel Literary Agency, as well as the same rights to her next frontlist book, which is currently untitled.
The publication of the backlist begins in May 2019 with The Hearts and Lives of Men , followed by the global bestseller The Life and Loves of a She-Devil in June 2019. The remaining titles, Praxis, Worst Fears and Letters to Alice, will follow thereafter.
Moore, who was selected a Bookseller Rising Star in 2017, said: “Fay Weldon’s work is iconic to British contemporary feminist literature, and I am absolutely thrilled that we have secured this fantastic opportunity to work not only with some of the author’s outstanding backlist titles, but her upcoming next work of fiction, too.”
Baldoni commented: “We are delighted that Fay’s backlist will be available alongside her frontlist titles. The audio format is increasingly popular, and we are thrilled that readers will be able to listen to Fay’s ground-breaking work.”
The Hearts and Lives of Men and Worst Fears are published in print by HarperCollins while The Life and Loves of a She-Devil, Praxis and Letters to Alice are published by Sceptre.
Weldon's Death of a She Devil, was published in April 2017 by Head of Zeus as a sequel to her feminist classic The Life and Loves of a She Devil which came out 33 years earlier. Her latest books, Why Will No-one Publish my Novel? and After the Peace, were also published by Head of Zeus last year.
