Bologna Children’s Book Fair is to open up its rights centre in 2023 to include exhibiting publisher rights professionals dealing with adult book deals.
At the March 2023 fair (6th-9th March) – marking the event’s 60th anniversary – the BCBF Agents Centre will include adult general trade publishing in addition to children’s for the first time.
BCBF director Elena Pasoli said: “Our BCBF Agents’ Centre has enjoyed great success over many years and it seems a logical next step in its development that we welcome broader audience from rights trading communities. Offering new opportunities to the wider publishing industry is a great way of celebrating a milestone birthday for Bologna.”
Guest director of BolognaBookPlus Jacks Thomas also commented: “This is a great opportunity for BolognaBookPlus general trade rights professionals who can now sit alongside their children’s publishing counterparts in the vibrant Bologna Rights Centre – a great addition to the overall BBPlus offering.”
According to the organisers, the March 2022 edition of the fair saw 1,070 exhibitors from 90 countries, and an attendance of 21,432 visitors.
