Bonnier Books UK has acquired audio rights to Lynda La Plante’s bestselling backlist titles in a new deal with the author.
La Plante’s frontlist is published by the company’s flagship adult fiction imprint, Zaffre, in all formats.
Bonnier Books UK has acquired 35 titles in total, including the Prime Suspect, Lorraine Page, The Governor, Anna Travis and Trial & Retribution series, as well as nine standalone titles. The three books in the Prime Suspect series were released together in Autumn 2019. The Lorraine Page trilogy is released this month. La Plante has sold 3.35 million books for £18.7m through TCM, with her bestseller 2005’s Above Suspicion, on 231,219 copies sold in paperback.
La Plante said: "I’m delighted that these stories and characters continue to resonate with readers and listeners – in some cases, more than 30 years after they first appeared. I’ve always believed passionately that my stories can be consumed in many different media and I’m very much looking forward to sharing these new unabridged editions."
Jon Watt, head of audio at Bonnier Books UK added: "We’re thrilled to be able to offer Lynda’s fans the chance to enjoy many of these landmark series in unabridged audio for the first time. We will be producing and releasing all the titles in each series simultaneously so listeners can be assured of consistent narration and quality across the series – and binge listen to hours of classic thrillers from the Queen of Crime Drama."
