Bonnier Books UK has appointed Transworld's Michelle Signore to the newly created role of editorial director of health and wellbeing list Lagom.
Signore has been at Transworld for 10 years and is editorial director for non-fiction, publishing commercial non-fiction with a mind, body, spirit edge, including books by The Unmumsy Mum, Chloe Madeley, Dr Ranj Singh and many others.
She will join Bonnier on 15th March, reporting to Matt Phillips, publisher of Blink, Lagom and John Blake.
Phillips said: “I am so thrilled that Michelle is coming to join us. She is known across the industry for her positive energy and business acumen and she has demonstrated her keen eye for trends and bestsellers over and again throughout her career. Michelle is the perfect person to lead our newly re-focused Lagom imprint which already features authors such as Professor Steve Peters. I can’t wait to start working with her.”
Bonnier said her appointment signals a refreshed focus for the Lagom imprint, targeted with becoming an industry-leading destination for lifestyle books focusing on physical and mental wellbeing that “tap into the zeitgeist”.
Phillips explained: “Michelle’s appointment is part of an overall strategy to grow Bonnier Books UK adult non-fiction offering in popular areas with international appeal and strong backlist potential.”
Signore said: “I have loved my time at Transworld and been lucky enough to work with many fantastic authors but I couldn’t be more excited to be joining Matt and the hugely talented team at Bonnier. I love their entrepreneurial spirit and I’m really looking forward to contributing to their continued growth and to being part of the development of the already impressive Lagom health and wellbeing list.”
Kate Parkin, m.d. of adult trade publishing at Bonnier Books UK, added: “We are delighted to have persuaded a publisher of Michelle’s calibre to lead our Lagom imprint. Michelle joins a lively and innovative existing non-fiction team and we are all looking forward to her arrival.”
