Bonnier Zaffre has signed a three-book deal to publish The Ironbridge Saga by Mollie Walton.
Assistant editor Tara Loder acquired world rights from Laura MacDougall at United Agents.
Set against the backdrop of an ironworks factory in Shropshire during the 1800s, the series is a “sweeping" cross-generational saga, about friendship, betrayal, love, loss and hope.
Walton said: “I’m thrilled to be writing a saga trilogy with Bonnier Zaffre and my new editor, Tara. I love the way we talk about the characters as if they were real people.”
Loder said: “We are hugely excited to sign up this series with the incredibly talented Mollie Walton, who from page one enchants her readers.”
MacDougall said: “I’m delighted The Ironbridge Saga series has found a home at Bonnier Zaffre. This marks an exciting new direction for Mollie Walton and she couldn’t be in better hands with her editor Tara Loder and the rest of the team.”
The first book in the series, The Daughters of Ironbridge, is set to publish spring 2019.
