Lagom, the lifestyle imprint of Bonnier Books UK, has won a five-way auction for a new book by health coach Aggie Lal.
Biohack Like a Woman will be published in trade paperback, audiobook and e-book on 26th September 2024.
Editor-at-large Carole Tonkinson acquired UK & Commonwealth rights (except Canada) from Oscar Janson-Smith.
Lal originally self-published Biohack Like a Woman in America, selling more than 50,000 copies in six months.
Lal said: “’Having recently married an Englishman and now spending more time with his family in the UK, I’ve witnessed first hand that accessible education and material on the power of biohacking, particularly for women, has been missing – until now. I see British women making the same mistakes I used to back in the day. No, you don’t need another diet to be fit. You just need a healthy eating lifestyle – no restrictions, no counting calories.”
Tonkinson said: “Aggie Lal’s passion for women’s wellbeing is infectious, which is clear from the fan engagement across her million-strong following to her brilliant book Biohack Like a Woman. Aggie cares deeply about women and making the insights from the hottest trend in health – biohacking – fit for women.”
Janson-Smith said: “Carole and the Lagom team will help to take Aggie’s already immensely impressive publishing career to the next level. This is a remarkably important book, as evidenced by its significant international success as a self-published title, and the pleasing number of translation deals we’ve been able to secure since.”
Lal is a certified nutrition and health coach, podcast host, TV personality and TEDx speaker with more than 1.5 million social media followers.
