Independent book and wine shop BookBar has launched a loyalty scheme in partnership with a local primary school, as part of the shop’s World Book Day celebrations.
The scheme will enable customers to get a stamp for every book they purchase. After 10 purchases, a book will be donated to a pupil at Ambler, a primary school in Finsbury Park. The loyalty scheme launched for World Book Day on 3rd March.
BookBar will also be partnering with Ambler to curate a "DREAM" library based around its principles of Determination, Resilience, Empathy, Ambition, Motivation and Self Belief.
"BookBar is at the centre of a wonderful community based around the bustling Blackstock Road in north London," said shop founder Chrissy Ryan. "Bookshops are community spaces and so it’s long been a desire to partner with a local school such as Ambler in a way that will have a tangible impact on local people, thanks to our customers. So many of our customers are part of Ambler’s community too, and it’s really exciting to be cementing that relationship more formally through this scheme."
Juliet Benis, head teacher of Ambler, added: "We are completely bowled over by the generosity of BookBar. We cannot wait to work with them to bring more books into the lives of Ambler pupils.”
