Bookouture title Silent Scream, the first in the D.I. Kim Stone detective series by Angela Marsons, has now sold one million copies since it was published in 2015, the publisher has said.
The novel has achieved the milestone across e-book, audio and paperback editions, Bookouture said. The series has been translated into 26 different languages worldwide, hitting the Kindle UK number one spot four times and selling close to three million copies around the world.
Publisher Claire Bord said Bookouture was "immensely proud" to publish Marsons.
"Silent Scream was the very first crime novel Bookouture published and our first ever Kindle UK number one, and so to see this incredible book surpass the one million copy mark is utterly phenomenal," she said. "In Detective Kim Stone, Angela has created a character who readers have really taken into their hearts."
Marsons added: "Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined when writing this book that it would go on to sell a million copies. That number is unfathomable to me and I remain eternally grateful to my editor, Keshini Naidoo, and the entire Bookouture team for their faith in this book and for allowing me to share Kim Stone with such a wide audience."
Book nine in the Kim Stone series will be released in October this year.
