Following Dawn O’Porter’s recommended reads for the summer, a new “Dawn Loves” collection, exclusive to W H Smith, has been unveiled by the retailer.
W H Smith first announced the partnership with O’Porter in June, with her first collection of recommended reads including books by the likes of Monica Ali and Bonnie Garmus.
The five books chosen for the new collection are: I’m Sorry You Feel That Way by Rebecca Wait (riverrun); Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid (Cornerstone); Isaac and the Egg by Bobby Palmer (Headline Review); Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982 by Cho Nam-Joo (Scribner UK) and You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty by Akwaeke Emezi (Faber & Faber).
O’Porter said: “Doing these recommendations is so fun. What a privilege to plough through so many great reads. I aim to get something for everyone in the selections, and if you read them all they each offer something different. I think this list is particularly special. I hope people love them as much as I did.”
The new collection launches on 31st August with a Buy One Get One Half Price offer. O’Porter’s The Cows (HarperCollins, 2017) is also featured in the collection. Her novel So Lucky was included as part of the summer collection.
Sharon Nightingale, book buyer at W H Smith, commented: “Once again it’s been a delight to work with Dawn on this latest collection of brilliant books. She’s an avid reader as well as a bestselling author, so really understands what makes a great read. This exciting new selection has something for everyone.”
Another “Dawn Loves” collection will be launched in December, with O’Porter picking her festive favourites.
