Books2Door, the online book retailer specialising in discounted books and box sets, has announced its half-year results, with total sales for second-quarter fiscal 2024 at £2.7m, representing growth of 38% compared with the same period in 2023.
The retailer has expanded its team, with 18 new recruits since January, including key positions designed to "enhance its digital presence and creative output". According to Books2Door, its TikTok sales year to date have reached £401,145 and it has gained 18,000 new followers since launching on TikTok Shop in March 2023. A dedicated TikTok manager, Tindy Kaur, has been appointed to drive the new revenue stream and deliver content partnerships, while a head of creative, three new designers and an in-house videographer have also joined the team. The retailer will also work with a pool of freelance storytellers.
To accommodate the growing team and operations, Books2Door has opened a third office and warehouse in Craven Street in Leicester – a space of 20,035 square feet for the team and additional book stock. Within this, the company has invested in over £30,000 of new equipment for a TikTok Studio in the Midlands. These new offices are in addition to existing sites in the city located at Tolwell Business Park and Vulcan House.
