E L James’ Freed (Cornerstone) did the double, locking down the Bookstat number one for the week ending 5th June, as well as the print number one through Nielsen BookScan’s TCM.
Lucinda Berry’s The Secrets of Us (Thomas & Mercer) scored second place, as Lisa Jewell’s irrepressible The Family Upstairs (Cornerstone) bounced into third place. Jewell’s psychological thriller, published in hardback in August 2019, has swiped both print fiction top spots via BookScan and became an e-book chart staple during 2020’s various lockdowns. Its Kindle price dropped to 99p last week, boosting it back up the Bookstat chart.
