Digital publishing company Bookwire is expanding its WAY Audiobook Production Service "to meet growing demand from publishers in English, Spanish and Brazilian markets".
WAY quickly produces audiobooks from manuscripts to being ready-to-distribute.
Videl Bar-Kar, vice-president audio at Bookwire, said: "We are excited to extend our WAY Audiobook Production Service to serve the English, Spanish and Brazilian markets. Giving a voice to stories lies at the heart of audiobook publishing and this expansion reflects our commitment to providing innovative solutions to publishers worldwide, enhancing their audiobook production experience. We are planning to offer more languages in the future.”
Solveij Krause, international audio business development manager and global lead WAY at Bookwire, added: "As we expand WAY Audiobook Production, we’re not just reaching new markets, but enhancing diversity in storytelling. The global studio network, synthetic voices in five languages, and Bookwire OS all come together to make audiobook production seamless and resonant, reflecting our dedication to amplifying diverse voices globally."
In January 2023, Bookwire partnered with Google Play Books to allow customers to produce auto-narrated audiobooks using its text-to-speech technology in five languages. Bookwire said the production of audiobooks with AI was not intended as a replacement for professional studios and human speakers but as an addition to Bookwire’s audiobook production offering.
