Henry Firth and Ian Theasby, the co-creators of BOSH!, have sold more than one million copies of their plant-based cookbooks, according to publisher HQ.
Firth and Theasby launched the BOSH! platform five years ago and have since become stars of ITV series "Living on the Veg" and have food products stocked in all major UK supermarkets. The duo are also British Book Award Winners, having won Lifestyle Book of the Year in 2019 for BOSH!, for which HQ also won Marketing Strategy of the Year.
HQ now says their various books have racked up sales of more than one million worldwide. Nielsen figures show the BOSH! duo have sold 607,591 print copies for £5.8m in the UK alone, though this excludes lockdown periods.
Their bestseller is the first BOSH! book, which shifted 368,845 copies on release in 2018. Since then, they have published five cookbooks, as well as How to Live Vegan, a guide to making sustainable and ethical lifestyle choices. They have been published in eight languages and sold into 60 countries.
Firth and Theasby said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to hear that we’ve hit the one million books milestone, mostly because this means we’ve been able to help so many more people to get plants on their plates. We can’t thank our amazing community enough for all that they’ve done to support us, and a huge thanks to everyone that has bought a copy.”
HQ executive publisher Lisa Milton added: "We are thrilled to celebrate this momentous achievement with Henry, Ian and team BOSH!. Since publishing the first BOSH! book nearly four years ago, our mission at HQ has been to firmly establish BOSH! as the leading plant-based cookery authors. Four bestsellers later and with over a million copies sold globally, we are so proud to be their publishing partner. We are excited to continue working together to get more plants on plates, all over the world."
Their agent, Bev James, said: “We could not be prouder of BOSH! and this staggering accomplishment; what they have achieved in the past four years is testament to their passion and verve in spreading the plant-based message. HQ have been the perfect publishing partner to help amplify them, and we are so excited about what the future holds in store."
