Holly Bourne, Juno Dawson and Simon James Green will be among the authors taking part in the two-day YA event YALC (the Young Adult Literature Convention), held at Olympia, London, during London Comic Con Winter on 11th-12th November.
Bourne, Dawson and Green, all ambassadors for the event, will be joined by Katherine Webber, Cat Doyle and other writers. Debut author Jay McGuiness will also be at YALC, talking about his YA novel Blood Flowers (Scholastic).
The convention-style event features stage panels, workshops and retail exhibitors celebrating YA books. It first took place at LFCC in 2014, and was Malorie Blackman’s major project as Waterstones Children’s Laureate 2013-2015.
YALC is run in conjunction with the UK YA Publishers and Showmasters Events, and both are represented on the Working Group which put together the event programme.
Zoe Finch, event director for Showmasters Events, said: “We are very pleased to announce such a diverse array of authors; we like to be able to offer opportunities to debut authors and YALC veterans alike, and this year is no different.”
Further guest authors, as well as the programming content for the YALC workshops and industry activities taking place in the returning agents arena, will be announced in the coming weeks.
