Anne Bowman has been appointed international sales director at Atlantic Books and Murdoch Books, replacing Gemma Davis who left the company last month.
Bowman will join Atlantic and Murdoch Books from the start of September, reporting to Dave Woodhouse, sales director for both publishers.
She joins from Chelsea Green Publishing, where she has been director of business development and sales for the past four years. Prior to that, Bowman was head of new business for Penguin Random House Children’s, and previous to that she spent six years at Faber, first as international sales manager for Faber Factory Plus and latterly as head of US sales.
She said: "I am delighted to be joining Atlantic and Murdoch, two publishers I have long admired. Gemma has left the international sales in a strong position for growth, and I am excited to continue the good work there. I will miss my colleagues at Chelsea Green, where I have learned so much about sustainable living over the last three years and met the most interesting people.
"I am ready for this new adventure, made all the better by getting to work with Dave again, a sales leader I have great admiration for."
Woodhouse added: "I am happy Anne has agreed to join us at such an exciting point in both companies’ evolutions. She has a wealth of experience of the international markets combined with an impressive track record of growing sales in each role she’s undertaken, and I know she is going to enhance our already strong sales team with her intelligence and trademark dynamism.
"I can’t wait to see Anne leading the charge internationally with our ambitious publishing programme for 2024 and beyond."
