Bradt Travel Guides buys Footprint
Indie publisher Bradt Travel Guides has completed the purchase of Footprint Travel from Compass Maps.
The deal includes all the Footprint Handbooks and Focus Guides. Distribution of the Footprint guides remains with GBS, who already distribute for Bradt.
Adrian Phillips, m.d. of Bradt Travel Guides, said: “We’re delighted to be adding the Footprint titles to our list of high-quality guides. The Footprint list complements our own, giving us access to content and expertise on a number of destinations – notably in Europe and Latin America – that aren’t currently covered by Bradt guides. This is a move that will allow us to continue the growth we have seen over the last few years, and further reinforce Bradt’s position as the UK’s largest independent publisher of travel guides.”
