Jazzmine Breary has been promoted to chief operating officer of Jacaranda Books, as the company celebrates its 10th anniversary.
Effective immediately, the former sales, publicity and marketing manager will work alongside Jacaranda’s founder Valerie Brandes to helm the company.
Breary joined the team when the publishing house launched in 2012, and has assisted with the publication of more than 70 titles, including books by Bernice L McFadden and Shola von Reinhold. She has also worked on the Twenty in 2020 initiative, which published 20 titles by 20 Black British writers in a single year. Its latest success is the A Quick Ting On series curated and edited by Forbes 30 under 30 2022 recipient and head of editorial and marketing Magdalene Abraha.
Her achievements at the publisher have also included orchestrating a series of corporate partnerships, including a retail deal with Foyles and work with the London Library.
