"I’m delighted to be taking this step forward at Gollancz," Durkin said. "The imprint holds a special place in my heart, and it’s been a joy to work with some of my favourite ever authors. I’m thrilled to publish a list of such incredibly talented writers, with announcements upcoming for some truly spectacular books. The next few years at Gollancz, as we head towards our 100th anniversary in 2027, are going to be electric, and I’m looking forward to playing a key part in the future success of the imprint."
Bethan Morgan, editorial director, added: "Working with Brendan has been one of my highlights at Gollancz since joining the team in 2022. A ferociously gifted editor and a formidable champion for every single project he’s involved with, Brendan is undoubtedly one of the most exciting talents working in SFF today and the next two years are set to be the best yet, taking Gollancz and Orion to ever new heights as we celebrate the last century of trail-blazing storytelling and look towards shaping the next."
